Twenty five years ago, I was an active parent volunteer in my daughters public school classroom. I found myself gravitating towards helping the students who seemed to be having a hard time in class. Soon students were coming to me asking for my help. The desire to help students who struggled led me to Educational Therapy.
I have a BA in Psychology from San Francisco State University and a Master’s in Education with a certificate in Educational Therapy from Holy Names University. I have spent the last 20 years as the Coordinator of Learning Resources and Learning Specialist in a private elementary school in Oakland. I have supported hundreds of students, and numerous parents and teachers over the course of my career. I have helped countless students achieve reading and writing mastery through my effective direct instruction methods. I also successfully helped parents navigate the educational assessment process through both private and public school evaluations. Numerous teachers have benefited from my guidance with how to create inclusive classrooms that incorporate best practices into their teaching methods.
